Someone commented that the term "slave tunnels" might be interpreted to some as a derogatory or offensive term..in my last post of ghost story.
I meant no disrespect to anyone. Perhaps underground railroad would havebeen a more politically correct term. So please pardon my use of words.
a ghost story

This is a story .. a true story about ghosts.
I lived in a house near Danbury CT, it was many years ago.
Roughly about 17 years to be exact. We were staying there while my X was redoing the house.
We as in myself,my small child at the time..(she was about 6months old)and my XBF.
The house itself was kinda creepy. It had been run down . In the bottom floor of the house was the kitchen, it had an old brick oven. Some semi updated cabinets, and the usual appliances.
This is where we mostly stayed. We set up a blow up type bed, and my daughter slept in her playpen.
Also in the kitchen was a small hallway that led down into another passage. It was all made of bricks until you reached these type of tunnels. I didn't know it at the time but after researching the houses history I found out these were part of the underground railroads. But thats another story all together.
While we were in this house some odd things happened. One day we left to do some errands. I remember leaving the windows open. It started to downpour while we were out and all I could think about was my daughter's playpen ..being right next to the window.. I was dreading our return,expecting it to be completley ruined and rained on.
When we got back.. all the windows were closed.. I know I opened them! But I just kinda blew it off.. as just a weird thing.
Next , me and the X.. were sitting by the fireplace,my daughter asleep and well.
The kitchen cabinets opened up and dishes came flying out of them! This was no joke.
I can't dismiss ghosts to this day because I know what I experienced.
We also had things (objects) disappear.. than re-appear..
The second floor was where the bedrooms and bathroom were located. I swear everytime I went into the bathroom, I felt a presence. It was colder than the rest of the house.
We had more freaky things happen in this house than I care to mention.
I don't think these ghosts or spirits wanted to scare us .. but I do think they wanted us to know they were there.
All of the items retrieved from this house.. like some old tapestries,dishes etc.. they have all somehow got broken or ruined somehow. another bizarre fact.
Just thought i'd share this with y'all....
anyone else have any encounters?

I am giving a bible as a gift to a young person I know.. Does anyone know of any inprint that are an easy read.. you know.. no old english..
I want this person to enjoy it and find it easy to read.. any suggestion would be appreciated!!
